November 2011 - Level 6 Championships

We saw many of our gymnasts pull out show stopping performances at the County Level 6 Championships this year. With medals and places coming in all the age groups, gymnasts showed their talents. With some gymnasts entering their first county competition and others completing this for their second time with massive improvements in place and performance. All coaches enjoyed the level of individual and club enthusiasm to compete. Well Done to all gymnasts and thank you to all parents and family members who supported their children on the day.

16th October 2011 - Regional Open Age Level 4 Championships

With Lincoln girls competing in many age groups throughout the day, it saw many high's and some low's. With Isobel Fillingham Doyle and Holly Sutton competing for the 10 year olds, their first L4 regional competition went well. Both Isobel and Holly had their challenges for the day and found they could give good all round personal performances on each piece of apparatus. Isobel caught the top bar and completed her floor routine for the first time. (forgot a little bit but nobody knew!!). Holly did really well on bars and managed a really confident beam routine to score well. Molly Price, Jazmin Tyler and Georgia Willerton took the baton for the 12/13 year age group. Again giving all round performances on each piece with Jazmin completing her sole circle on bar, Georgia doing her back walkover (next time to stay on!!) and Molly flying over the vault to give her a great result.

In the afternoon the 11 year olds started their competition. Chelsie Jukes, Jessica Weaver, Phoebe Erm, Emily Chamberlain and Sarah White started on bars. With all giving good performances on this piece, next came the beam... we love the beam echoed from them all!! However Jessica stuck her round off dismount which she had been worrying about all week and the others battled through the nerves and the wobbles to get some good scores. Sarah in her first L4 regional competition did well to control her nerves, but eventually she settled in to competing. Chelsie and Emily performed some crackin vaults and Phoebe performed her new floor routine with her usual cheeky charm. No all round medals with competition being high but an individual gold on bars for Emily.

25th September 2011 - Regional Open Age Level 3, 2 Championships

Lincoln had 4 girls competing in this competition. Level 3 was represented by Lucy Walker, Emma Pashley and Chloe Gelsthorpe and Level 2 by Alicia Cartlidge.

At Level 3 in a competition with 24 gymnasts, 12 in the 14+ age group, the three girls competed well with some things going right and others not so, which disappointed the girls in some aspects. Lucy pulled out great performances on floor and beam, landing combinations and tumbles which she has been finding difficult to master recently. Emma took the competition in her stride, with as she would say "a laughable start!" but a crackin finish on vault and floor. Chloe although finishing in a disappointing position for her, pulled out great performances on floor and vault after a very nervous start when she forgot to believe in herself!.
At Level 2 Alicia competed with 9 gymnasts, 1 in her age group. Alicia was under pressure, although guaranteed an overall medal it came down to 1st or 2nd. It was to be the silver though with her having a difficult day on bars but performing well above on the vault to take the individual gold on this piece.
